Youth Tour
The Gila River Indian Community Utility Authority (GRICUA) is looking
for two(2) community members ages 16-19, in an accredited high school to participate in
GRICUA's Youth Tour program. The winners of the program will be
sent on an all expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. to participate in
National Youth Tour week
The Youth Tour, organized by the National Rural Electric Cooperative
Association, brings over a thousand young people from across the
United States to Washington to learn more about community-owned
electric utilities and the federal government. Additionally, students will
tour historical sites and museums in the nation's capital.
Overview
1. Tentative Youth Tour Dates: June 14-21, 2012
2. Students must be enrolled Gila River Indian Community
members, ages 16-19, and in high school (students may be
home schooled through an accredited process).
3. Students will be required to submit responses to three essay
questions. Each answer must be between 300-500 words.
4. The top five students will be invited for an interview at
GRICUA's office. After the interviews, the top two students will be
selected to participate in the program.
ENTRY FORM AND ESSAYS MUST BE RECEIVED AT
GRICUA'S OFFICE BY 1:00PM LOCAL TIME ON NOVEMBER
1, 2011 TO QUALIFY.
